The Challenge / North P&I, a marine mutual liability insurer for incidents involving piracy, pollution and oil spills, collisions, groundings and cargo damage approached Shout with a need to take their digital strategy mobile.
As insurers of some of the largest shipping fleets from around the world North wanted to promote its ethos of service and care through the provision of digitally accessible information and guidance.
Shout responded with a plan to build a hybrid mobile application that would allow its users to search and find North P&I Club staff contact details and correspondents from anywhere in the world, in addition to searching for vessels entered in the club.
Shout achieved this by creating a fully Hybrid mobile app that allows users to access North’s regularly updated database of contact, offices and correspondents.
Further to simply accessing this information which is synced directly from North’s databases, the application also allows users to sync the data for offline use to ensure it is up to date when no internet connection is available.

The hybrid approach to development, allowed Shout to develop the application to a high standard within tight deadlines for all major mobile platforms inclusive of iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone.
Allows users (crews and port users) to access contact details for appropriate correspondents.
User can search by name, country or port as well as being able to quickly find the nearest correspondent office via geolocation.
Users can quickly obtain contact details for all North staff, and filter by department and location.
Shows which vessels are members of North P&I, and checks if a blue card has been issued.
