System Administrator.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to join our team.

This role is full time, working Monday to Friday. This role would ideally suit someone with a background in System Administration who is looking to gain more experience in the Cloud space.

As our System Administrator, you will be responsible for both managing our internal network and providing support to our expanding client base. You will provide analytical incident management and resolution alongside project-deliverables, ensuring quality service delivery and service level agreement compliancy. You will be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. You will have excellent technical knowledge across Microsoft public Cloud Services (Azure and Microsoft 365).

Main duties

  • Network administration
  • Backup management
  • Monitoring system and network security
  • Provide IT support to colleagues.
  • User training
  • Setting up accounts and hardware.
  • Mobile device management.
  • Implementation and delivery of Microsoft Azure projects.
  • Contribution to the planning of application/infrastructure releases and configuration changes.
  • Interaction with key internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Providing input to administering and maintaining all production and development environments.
  • Preparation of OMS reports for clients.

Role requirements

Essential

  • Experience as a System Administrator, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of system security.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking, and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps - deploying Infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of network protocols, firewalls (Network Virtual Appliances) and routing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Resourceful, with strong problem solving skills.
  • Thirst for innovation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Agile working practices.
  • Knowledge of Qualys or similar.
  • Experience of hardening IT infrastructure based on security audits, standards and industry best practice (e.g. vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and ISO27001/17/18).
  • Experience with deployment and management of container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, AKS and Docker).
  • Previous experience of working with infrastructure-as-code and immutable builds.
  • Experience of Infrastructure migrations to the Azure Cloud.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
