To embark upon the journey of a lifetime, all you need are four wheels and a tank of gas, right? Well now you don’t even need those.

We collaborated with Exsus, the luxury tour operator to create a digital experience that takes participants on an interactive journey across California’s Highway One, into the very heart of America’s Golden State.



The site is the fruit of Exsus’ travel expertise and Shout’s digital and creative nous combined to create a head-turning, interactive website experience that perfectly encapsulates California’s sunny, laid-back and gloriously eccentric vibe.

The land of the free is, of course, best seen from behind the wheel of a Cadillac Eldorado ‘59. Highway One is one of America’s most iconic and best-loved routes and frequently tops the list when it comes to the world’s best road trips.

The Highway One site is a taste of the open road for those who’ve always fancied driving off into the sunset. Taking to the road – in a red vintage Cadillac, no less – users are taken on a journey across the Californian coast.



They can discover the route’s many highlights and attractions, from the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, to hippy paradise Big Sur, and from the fantasy Hearst Castle at Cambria, to the birthplace of the Arnold Schwarzenegger we know and love, Venice’s Muscle Beach. They’ll also meet a motley cast of characters to help them on their way, including some of California’s most famous – and most notorious – inhabitants like Ron Burgundy, Howard Hughes and San Diego Zoo’s giant female panda, Bai Yun.

The project celebrates the launch of Exsus’ tailor-made USA holidays and North America travel expert, Patrick, joining the Exsus team.
